Players Championship 15 is in the ledger and it was another title win for Luke Littler. In terms the highest averages from the event though, it's the vastly more experienced Gary Anderson who tops the charts.
Anderson threw the highest official average of his career at the age of 53. His old record stood at 117.12, which he set earlier this year. Anderson started the match against Andrew Gilding with an 11-darter, then doubled the lead with a 12-darter. A 170 finish for another 12-darter then made it 3-0. The Scot then made it 4-0 in thirteen darts, before Gilding needed an 11-darter to get on the scoreboard. In the sixth leg, Anderson started with two 180 scores, but a nine-darter was not forthcoming. A 13-darter did make it 5-0. Anderson then put a 6-1 final score on the scoreboard via a 13-darter.
As shown by Premium Dart Data on X (Twitter), behind Anderson's ridiculous 123.83, the in form Ross Smith had the best average of the day. The former European Championship winner topped out at 113.23. Behind that, Damon Heta had the next two highest averages with 112.04 and 108.65 respectively.
In terms of the other high averages of the day, the likes of Chris Dobey, Luke Humphries, Jermaine Wattimena, Andrew Gilding, Mikr De Decker, Raymond van Barneveld and losing finalist, Wessel Nijman all feature.
