The German Darts Championship in Hildesheim has seen Nathan Aspinall, Peter Wright and a slew of Dutchman remain in the hunt for the title as Gerwyn Price is dumped out by Danny Noppert.
Noppert produced a stunning comeback to dump out former World Champion Gerwyn Price, while Nathan Aspinall, Peter Wright among others headed through on Sunday afternoon. Jermaine Wattimena also delighted with a 111 average at the German Darts Championship.

Noppert stuns Price in thrilling decider

Danny Noppert kicked off the final day against Gerwyn Price and had to dig deep to keep his title hopes alive. The Dutchman found himself trailing 4–0 as the Welshman flew out of the blocks, dominating the early exchanges with ruthless scoring and finishing. But Noppert refused to fold. A 65 checkout sparked a revival, and a flurry of legs in 14, 13 and 14 darts levelled the contest at 4–4. Price edged ahead once more but faltered when it mattered most, missing three match darts in the decider.

That proved costly as The Freeze held his nerve, taking out double five to complete a superb turnaround and seal his spot in the quarter-finals. The victory sets up an all-Dutch clash between Noppert and Gian van Veen, who had earlier swept aside Jonny Clayton in dominant fashion, winning 6–1.

Van Veen cruises past Clayton as Wattimena fires 111 average to dismantle Nijman

Van Veen flew out of the gates with two 14-darters followed by legs of 16 and 13 darts to race into a 4–0 lead. Clayton, struggling to find rhythm and consistency on the doubles, avoided the whitewash with a 108 checkout but couldn’t capitalise further. Van Veen wrapped up the win in style with a composed finish on double two, posting a near-98 average in one of the standout displays of the day.
The Dutch domination continued as Jermaine Wattimena delivered the performance of his career, averaging an incredible 111.00 in a 6–2 demolition of compatriot Wessel Nijman — his highest-ever average on the European Tour. The Machine Gun broke immediately, landed a 122 checkout for 2–0, and powered on with 14-darters and a 108 finish. Nijman reduced the deficit to 5–2, but Wattimena sealed it in style with a stunning 137 checkout via double top.
Having already posted ton-plus averages in wins over Keane Barry and James Wade, Wattimena now looks in red-hot form heading into his quarter-final showdown with Nathan Aspinall, who himself impressed with a 6–2 win over Steve Lennon, averaging over 110.

Van Duijvenbode edges Schindler in dramatic decider as Wright continues title defence

Dirk van Duijvenbode also battled through to the last eight, surviving a thriller against Martin Schindler that went the full distance. Van Duijvenbode endured a shaky start, missing four doubles as Schindler raced into a 2–0 lead. A brilliant 124 finish for a 12-darter got the Dutchman back on track, but he still trailed as the German threatened to close it out at 5–3.
Schindler missed match darts in both the ninth and tenth legs, allowing Aubergenius to claw back to 5–5 before taking out a sensational 100 checkout in the deciding leg to complete the comeback.
Van Duijvenbode now faces Peter Wright, who came through a spirited all-Scottish clash with Cameron Menzies, winning 6–4 to keep his title defence alive. It continues a spirited weekend for 'Snakebite' who remains one of the big names left in the hunt going into the final session and he avenges the loss to Menzies in Amsterdam. The final quarter-final will see Dave Chisnall meet Krzysztof Ratajski. Chisnall brushed aside Ricky Evans 6–2 to secure his European Championship qualification, while Ratajski matched that scoreline against Ryan Joyce.
