Gerwyn Price reached a milestone on Sunday in his successful career. By winning the
European Darts Grand Prix 2026 in Sindelfingen, the former world champion became only the second player ever to claim at least ten
European Tour titles. Only
Michael van Gerwen has done better.
Price defeated Ross Smith in the final, adding his tenth triumph on the European circuit. That puts him on a shortlist that otherwise features only Van Gerwen, who remains the record holder by a distance with 38 titles.
Price’s first Euro Tour title dates back to 2018, when he won the 2018 International Darts Open in Riesa. Since then, the Welshman has continued to thrive year after year on the European stage. In 2019 he successfully defended his title in Riesa, before adding the Belgian Darts Championship to his résumé in 2020.
Price also struck in 2021 with victories at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy and the Hungarian Darts Trophy. Further success followed at the International Darts Open in both 2022 and 2023. Remarkably, Price went without a Euro Tour title in 2024 for the first time since 2018, but he hit back in 2025 by winning the Baltic Sea Darts Open. Now title number ten has been added in Sindelfingen.
Price downplays his own record
Afterwards, Price looked back on his new milestone with humor. “I’ve been in the PDC for 12 years now - so less than one a year on average isn’t very good!” the Welshman joked.
He immediately admitted, though, how important this title feels to him. “I’m glad I’ve won this one and hopefully it gives me a bit of confidence for the period ahead.”
According to Price, the issue lately has mainly been closing out tournaments. “Thankfully I won this one, and hopefully it will give me a bit of confidence going forward.”
Another notable shift is Price’s growing popularity on the continent. Where he used to encounter regular resistance, support from the stands is increasingly common. “I never used to have this support, but I’m cherishing every moment I get on stage - it’s brilliant for me and may it continue!”
Impressive numbers
Price’s Euro Tour numbers underline just how successful he has been. Of the thirteen finals he has played, he has won ten. He has also reached the semi-finals nineteen times, converting thirteen of those into a place in the final.
Since his first title in September 2018, Van Gerwen has won only one more Euro Tour event than Price: eleven to ten. Behind that duo, Luke Humphries follows with nine titles.
The fact that Price, at 41, is still competing for major honors says a lot about his consistency. The Welshman has now been firmly inside the world’s top sixteen for more than eight consecutive years.
