Gerwyn Price gave the Northern Ireland fans in Belfast the night of their lives by taking the title in the third week of the
Premier League Darts after hitting two nine-darters
The Welshman started the evening with a 6-3 victory over Michael Smith. In that match The Iceman didn't throw a nine darter yet, but he ended the match with a 170 finish.
The first nine-darter came in his semi-final against Michael van Gerwen. After a wonderful match, the world number one won 6-5 against the Dutchman.
Price then made history in the week finale against James Wade by becoming the first darts player ever to throw a nine darter in two different TV matches on the same day.
Yet Wade almost seemed to ruin the magical night of The Iceman. The Englishman played an excellent match himself and took a 120 finish to take a 4-3 lead. But Price took back the lead as he hit a 18-darter before taking out 105. Wade got three chances to make 5-5, but couldn't hit the double. Then it was Price who took the title with an 82 check-out.
