The second Quarter-Finalists at the World Cup of Darts have been confirmed with the host nations Austria through in a clean sweep after defeating debutants Portugal.

Mensur Suljovic and Jose de Sousa were facing off in the first tie which was a clash of two players in good form as of late. But it was a win which was took by 'The Gentle' 4-2.

Neither player was at their best with slim margins on the doubles proving pivotal with Suljovic hitting 33% while De Sousa was on 2/9 (22%).

Suljovic started by claiming a 2-0 lead including his trusty double 14 to break after De Sousa had missed a dart to hold. De Sousa had the chance to break back to make it 2-1 but in the end fluffed his lines and Suljovic came back to pin double one and go 3-0 up.

De Sousa returned to grab his first leg on the board before then breaking with a 121 checkout to ask the question but after 'The Special One' couldn't pin a 131, Suljovic claimed a 58 checkout last dart in hand to win through.

It was then handed off to Rowby-John Rodriguez who eased past Jose Marques in a 4-1 win where 'Little John' hit 36% on the doubles and a high checkout of 84.

A pivotal moment came with Rodriguez breaking his throw to go 2-1 up and from there, he streaked to victory to set up a tie against England or Lithuania.
