Van den Bergh recovers to seal clean sweep for Belgium over Latvia at World Cup of Darts

It is a third game in a row where it has been a clean sweep in the World Cup of Darts second round but it nearly went to a doubles decider between Belgium and Latvia with Dimitri van den Bergh recovering to defeat Madars Razma to claim it 2-0.

Huybrechts began the singles action for Belgium against Janis Mustafejevs and made quick work of the debutant with a 4-0 win which saw 'The Hurricane' average 87 with the all important 50% on the doubles (4/8) compared to 0/3 from the Latvian who only averaged 69.

While for Van den Bergh, it was anything but quick work for the World Matchplay champion against Madars Razma who went 3-1 up with a break of throw against The Dreammaker but couldn't force a doubles decider with two missed match darts as the Belgian came back.

Razma missed double nine off a 49 checkout going inside and spurning a match dart and this allowed Van den Bergh a quick break back. The former left 70 to pressure Van den Bergh's throw in the requisite leg but he pinned double 12 and he smashed in a 103 checkout to win through and make sure of a third straight clean sweep.
