Huybrechts sees off Henderson in strong display, Hopp edges past Ljubic

The first action of the evening session is complete at the European Darts Grand Prix and among those through include Kim Huybrechts.

In facing John Henderson, it was a battle of two World Cup of Darts participants but it was Huybrechts who came out on top. He claimed it 6-2 with two 180's and 6/14 on his doubles this was compared to only 2/7 from his opponent.

Max Hopp will also be at the World Cup of Darts alongside Gabriel Clemens and despite a big disparity in their averages, it wasn't an easy game for the Maximiser.

He claimed it 6-4 with a 25 checkout with Ljubic missing a 129 checkout to level the tie up at 5-5. In terms of statistics, he hit 12 140's, two 180's and 6/17 on the doubles in moving through to the second round.
