One of the hottest prospects in the sport,
Luke Littler has already exceeded his own expectations in his debut year on the PDC
Development Tour, qualifying for the World Darts Championship and capturing a PDC Tour Card for 2024 and 2025.
The 16-year-old Littler won five of the 24 Development Tour tournaments this year and finished second on the Development Tour Order of Merit behind Gian van Veen. He also recorded 22 100+ averages and a nine-darter during the Development Tour season.
As icing on the cake, he also qualified for the final of the PDC World Youth Championship, where the aforementioned Van Veen awaits. “I still can’t believe it. I have surprised myself. At the start of the year, my ambition was to win one Development Tour title, and I’ve won five!"
“I knew I had the ability to beat the best players on the Development Tour, and I’ve beaten quite a few Tour Card Holders – Dylan Slevin, Danny Jansen, Lewy Williams, Keane Barry. It is unbelievable. Now I’ve got my Tour Card, I can’t wait to prove what I can do on the big stages,” he said in conversation with the PDC.
Littler will get a chance to showcase his talent in December at Alexandra Palace, where the World Darts Championship will be played. After that, Littler will compete in all Pro Tour tournaments for at least two years. 'The Nuke' is eager to compete with the best darters in the world.
“I believe it will raise my game, because I will be playing against the best players in the world, week in, week out on the ProTour and in qualifying for the European Tour. At the moment I don’t practice much. I usually do 30 minutes to an hour a day. Some people probably won’t believe it, but if I’m playing against the best, then I’ve got to up my standard.”
