"I hope the PDC are helping Luke and giving him the right advice" - Dennis Priestley warns Luke Littler to be careful with his money if he wants an early retirement

Luke Littler recently let slip that it should not be surprising if he retires from darts in 10 to 15 years as he could be done with the sport by then. That is of course, if 'The Nuke' can gain enough money by then to enjoy an early retirement.

Former world champion Dennis Priestley advises him to use his prize money wisely. ''If Luke Littler really wants to retire from darts in 10-15 years, then looking after his money is exactly what he needs to be doing. It all depends on the people around him and how they'll invest his huge winnings. I hope the PDC are helping Luke and giving him the right advice too,'' Priestley told OLBG.com.

It will take the 17-year-old Littler quite a few more years to earn as much prize money as darts legend Phil Taylor. According to estimates, 'The Power' has earned 12 million pounds in prize money during the course of his career.

''Whether Luke will earn as much as Phil, I'm not sure. Taylor must've won something like £12million. If Littler wants to earn that figure then he has to be at the top of his game for 15 years to match that,'' Priestley stated.

The 73-year-old Englishman is convinced that he would also have become a multimillionaire with his darts achievements had he played in the current era. ''Looking back at '92, I won 12 tournaments out of a possible 17 - if I'd received today's money for those 12 wins, that'd have been massive money," he concludes.
