Noa-Lynn van Leuven caused a sensation on the
Challenge Tour last weekend. The 27-year-old Dutchwoman defeated Pole Tytus Kanik 5-3 in the final of the sixth tournament to become the first transwoman to win a tournament on the Challenge Tour.
Van Leuven performed superbly throughout the tournament and topped it off with a 100+ average in the final. "Speechless, that is what I am after this weekend," Van Leuven reflected on her success via a post to her official Instagram.
"I knew I could play darts. But winning a PDC Challenge tour on my debut is just insane!" Van Leuven continued. "I was hoping to bring my a game to this weekend of the Challenge Tour and I think I did! I played some really good games which resulted in an 89 average over the whole weekend."
Van Leuven is now ninth in the Challenge Tour standings due to her strong performance. The top two after 24 tournaments (ten tournaments have now been played) will receive a PDC Tour Card for the next two years and may also participate in the World Darts Championship.
