"I watched him in the Premier League the other night and he’s also a showman" - PDC chairman Eddie Hearn 'fascinated' by rise of Luke Littler

The money involved in darts has only been growing over recent years. Because of this, PDC chairman Eddie Hearn is convinced that Luke Littler could amass a massive fortune if he remains dedicated to the sport in the coming years.
Eddie Hearn succeeded his father Barry as PDC chairman in 2021 and watched Littler emergence over the last year and a half with real excitement. "I don’t know Luke too well," Hearn told Betfred. "We’ve exchanged messages, but the most fascinating thing about Luke is how he’s managed to keep his head, keep performing at the highest level and do the right things."
"Plonkers can start to associate themselves, or start becoming involved, in athlete’s circles, but he’s got a really good group of people around him, which is so important for any big name," Hearn continues. "He’s obviously got a very close relationship with his dad and the rest of his family and they’ve done a brilliant job to nurture him into the competitor that he is today."
Littler is the defending champion in Premier League Darts and he won the second day of play in Glasgow last week by defeating rival Luke Humphries in the final. Ahead of Night Three this evening, Hearn has shone praise warmly onto Littler. "For him, it’s all about the darts," Hearn comments of Littler's attitude. "He’s making a fortune and he will continue to make more and more money, especially when the prize money, inevitably, continues to go up for the PDC. I just find it fascinating."
"I watched him in the Premier League the other night and he’s also a showman," concludes Hearn. "I just think he’s perfect in every way and the reason why he’s perfect is because he lives to compete and he lives to play and everything else just follows on. As long as you can stay focused on that and you’re as good as he is, everything else comes with it."

- obviously littler has the potential to surpass everybody simply because nobody has been this good at this age before, but people who think he would be any kind of favourite right now against prime taylor in a big final have short memories. it's obvious that prime taylor wouldn't win as many world titles if he was playing today, but there's also good reason to believe he'd be winning more than anybody else. hell, his statistical profile still stands alone in darts history and he might statistically be even better if he was playing today with better equipment, larger beds, more competition therefore more motivation, etc.colt24-03-2025
