Alan Soutar has forged a reputation for himself as a growing presence on the PDC circuit over recent years. The 47-year-old Scot has now also signed a long-term extension with manufacturer Mission Darts, in a showing of faith in 'Soots' by the company.
Currently world ranked 56, Soutar has starred on the Ally Pally stage at the PDC World Darts Championship over the years, twice reaching the last 16 in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Soutar also made a career-best run at a TV major at the Grand Slam of Darts in 2022 when he stormed to the quarter-finals before ultimately losing out to Nathan Aspinall 16-12 in the last eight.
As mentioned, Soutar has now signed a long-term contract extension with Mission Darts. A point of note in this new deal though, is the fact that the Scot is set to become more than just one of the growing list of players on the books of the darts manufacturer, with Soutar taking up a role as a 'player ambassador' for the Mission Darts brand.
“To sign another long contract with Mission is brilliant. I'm really happy at Mission," he explains in a press release on the company's official website. "To be asked to become an ambassador for Mission is really cool and for them to think of me in that way. I'll be getting more involved more with the company and promoting Mission. I'm really happy to sign up for that role as well."
“This is a major boost for Mission to have Alan extend his contract with us, and to have him as an ambassador means so much," added Mission’s player development manager Darryl Fitton. “It’s not only great for the brand, but for the players at Team Mission and in the Mission Academy as well. We’re delighted to have Alan representing us as an ambassador and I’m sure he will continue to be a role model for the players coming up through the ranks as well.”
A new multi year deal signed with Mission Darts which I’m so happy with.

Since securing my PDC Tour Card in 2021, Mission have been superb for me and do everything to ensure that the darts are your only worry on tour.
Also excited to become a brand ambassador for Mission. https://t.co/kmBpqB0KG4
