Michael van Gerwen got off to a good start at the
Dutch Darts Masters. 'Mighty Mike' was a 6-1 winner
Vincent van der Voort in his opening match.
Van Gerwen had indicated beforehand that he did not like going up against his best friend. And that feeling proved the same even afterwards. "I'm glad it's over, it's done now, I won the game and I'm glad with that," Van Gerwen said.
"I had to beat him and today wasn't too bad and I did ok. It wasn't fantastic but I did the right things at the right moments."
In the quarter-finals, van Gerwen will take on his old nemesis, Raymond van Barneveld. "
"Anyone who comes on my path I have to beat and I have to make sure I'm there tomorrow."
