Beau Greaves has recently been touted for the
Premier League Darts by five-time world champion
Raymond van Barneveld. While being in awe of the comments of a legend of the sport, she admitted that it would take a seismic effort to achieve this incredible feat.
Greaves has set the darting world alight with her incredible dominance and displays produced over the last couple of years. She is currently on an 86-match unbeaten streak in the Women's Series, while a second-place finish on the Development Tour order of merit has yielded her a Tour Card for 2026 and a spot at the upcoming PDC World Darts Championship. Ahead of that, she has got the
Grand Slam of Darts to compete for, along with a final clash against Gian van Veen in the World Youth Championship Final. Enroute, she defeated a sparking Luke Littler who averaged over 107 in a 6-5 defeat to 'Beau 'n' Arrow.'
"I just feel really proud of myself — obviously getting my Tour Card and then continuing to play well. I feel really happy and quite confident at the minute, so it’s all been really positive towards the back end of the year," Greaves stated in an interview with
Online Darts.
Premier League ambitions
Forner Premier League champion Van Barneveld has recently hopped on the 'Beau Greaves hype train,' saying that a deep run at Ally Pally would be enough for her to seal a spot in the Premier League. This was something Greaves was deeply grateful for. "Yeah, it’s great — it’s just nice, isn’t it? They don’t have to say that sort of stuff, so it means a lot. I grew up watching all these players."
The Englishwomen admitted that if the opportunity rose, she would not turn it down. "I can’t imagine I’d get in the Premier League unless I had a crazy run," she said laughing. "But I wouldn’t say no! It might be a bit much for me right now, but it’d definitely make things exciting.
It is an event Greaves enjoys to watch. "People say the Premier League can get a bit flat — I always end up watching it every week, though." Despite all of this, she does not believe she deserves to be in it yet. "It’d be amazing to play in it, but I don’t think I’d deserve it yet, considering all the other players. Still, it’s really sweet that people say good things about me — I really appreciate it," she said.
Breaking the internet after Littler success
After her tremendous win against Littler, she was getting lauded from every direction. Despite this statement triumph, she played it down. "Yeah, it was great — it was a great game. But to me, it’s just another darts match, you know?" she admitted. "Luke didn’t miss much, I didn’t miss much — we were both in the zone. He was sound after it; it was just a good game."
She was cannoned into the mainstream of darts, being plastered all over social media for all the right reasons. "Obviously, I saw all the stuff online afterwards, and yeah, I’ve benefited from it — even just from that one game. Beating Luke has definitely got me more out there and helped build my following. I enjoyed the game — I fancied getting to the final because I’d been playing well all day. I thought I had a good chance, but obviously he’s extremely tough to beat. Somehow, I just did it — you play, and you win."
Grand Slam of Darts on the horizon
After failing to make it out of the group phase in the last two editions, Greaves is determined to make it out. "I’ve felt like I’ve let myself down a bit at the Grand Slam. I do find it hard playing on stage — I’ve said before that it feels so different compared to the floor."
New year, new mindset for Greaves: "But I’ve got a different outlook this year. I know I’m playing well, I feel confident, and I’m not talking myself down all the time anymore — that’s been nice. What a group as well! I’m looking forward to it and we’ll see what happens."
She admitted that it is not one of her favourite events due to the format. "Yeah, it’s massive. The first year I was lucky to even play, but it was disappointing. Last year, I didn’t play well at all. It’s a tough tournament — probably not one of my favourites, to be honest. It’s a short format, and you have to play well — you don’t get many chances."
Greaves finds herself in a stacked group featuring Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson and Niko Springer. Nevertheless, Greaves is confident of stamping her authority once more in the sport. "I know I’m not quite at the same standard yet as the people I’m playing, but I can get there. Playing on stage more and on the Pro Tour has already made me a better player. I know I’m good — I can do it — it’s just about timing and hitting the right shots at the right moment," she concluded.
