Jermaine Wattimena signs for Winmau! Dutchman becomes stablemate with compatriot Michael van Gerwen

Jermaine Wattimena has secured a new sponsor for his darts equipment. The Dutch thrower has signed a deal with Winmau, the renowned darts manufacturer announced on Thursday via its own social media channels.

That brings an end to Wattimena’s search for a new darts supplier, after it was revealed earlier this summer that his partnership with the German brand Bull's had ended. Winmau welcomed the Dutchman with a brief message on Instagram: “Welcome to the family.”

With this move, Wattimena joins one of the biggest brands in the darts world. Winmau has been the official supplier of dartboards used at PDC tournaments for many years and also boasts a large roster of players.

Several Dutch stars are also under contract with the manufacturer. Michael van Gerwen, Danny Noppert, Vincent van der Voort, and Jurjen van der Velde are likewise part of Team Winmau. The brand also represents several international elite players, including Joe Cullen, Simon Whitlock, Daryl Gurney, Mervyn King, and Steve Beaton.

The switch to Winmau marks a new chapter for Wattimena. The current world number 17 could appear at upcoming tournaments using his new sponsor’s equipment for the first time. His new darts will also go on sale at darts shops in due course.
