The action has begun on the final day at the European Darts Grand Prix with a big shock win for Maik Kuivenhoven and defending champion Ian White through.
Kuivenhoven stunned Daryl Gurney yesterday and the Dutchman who is provisionally qualified now for the European Championship has seen off the newly crowned Premier League champion, Glen Durrant.
He has produced some brilliant displays in patches over the past year on the ProTour but has been translating that to the stage in Sindelfingen as he looks not only to qualify for the season ending tournament but also keep his Tour Card.
In winning, he came from 3-1 down and reeled off five consecutive legs including hitting a 170 checkout along the way to win through.
Also through like alluded to is White who saw off one of his best friends and a practice partner in Michael Smith.
After not hitting the heights and failing to win a game on the European Tour before yesterday, 'Diamond' won through to the Quarter-Finals in a 6-2 win.
