The seventeenth event of the PDC Challenge Tour 2025 season was claimed on Friday evening by Lee Cocks. It marked the Englishman’s second career title on the PDC’s second-tier circuit, after he defeated compatriot Jack Tweddell in the final.
Cocks opened his campaign with a 5–0 win over former Tour Card holder Aaron Beeney. He then saw off Bruno Stoeckli (5–3), Samuel Price (5–2) and Jarred Cole (5–3) to reach the quarter-finals. There he produced another emphatic 5–0 victory, this time against Reece Colley. In the semi-finals, former Tour Card holder David Pallett pushed him all the way, but Cocks edged through 5–4 to book his place in the final.
On the other side of the draw, Tweddell battled his way into the final. He began with a 5–0 win over Kirk de Ruyter, before overcoming Kevin Leadenham (5–3), Kevin Burness (5–3), James Waite (5–2), Tommy Lishman (5–2), Aden Kirk (5–2) and two-time Lakeside champion Scott Waites (5–3).
In the final, Cocks immediately established a 2–0 lead with legs of 15 and 16 darts. That early break proved decisive, as the match went with throw from that point on. Cocks wrapped up a 5–3 victory to secure the title – adding to the Challenge Tour crown he collected last year in Germany.
The action continues in Leicester on Saturday with two further Challenge Tour events, before the weekend concludes on Sunday with the twentieth tournament of the season.
The Challenge Tour is open to players who took part in Q-School but failed to win a Tour Card. The circuit offers top-ranked players the chance to step in as reserves for Players Championship events, while the two highest finishers across the season will be awarded PDC Tour Cards and a place at the World Darts Championship.

- Absolutely disgraceful, really I've said many times that ITV coverage is superior to SKY and SKY know that. Jacqui was absolutely fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. Emma from SKY is more interested in what to wear than learning about darts. Chris Mason is absolutely the best and greatest commentator on TV, even better than Alex Jacques on F1 and Alex is absolutely brilliant. It is criminal that Chris and Alan will probably never be on TV again, what an amazing waste of talent. Poor Ned, who is just as excellent and knowledgeable on darts as the Tour de France has lost both gigs this year. The whole ITV team from presentation, commentary, production the whole team will definitely be missed and I have enjoyed every minute of their coverage. Thank you so much. John Part is the ONLY decent and knowledgeable person on SKY.
