Lennon produces strong display against Razma, Telnekes sets up tie with Smith after Marijanovic win

The action continues at the European Darts Grand Prix with Steve Lennon through to the second round and a tie awaits against Jamie Hughes after a strong display against Madars Razma.

Lennon averaged 96 in the end against the Latvian with 6/16 on the doubles in a 6-3 victory with Razma unlucky in the end not to get more out of the tie with 3/6 on the doubles and a high checkout of 149 despite the former European Tour finalist playing well.

Derk Telnekes is also through and will take on Michael Smith tomorrow after seeing off Robert Marijanovic.

Also a 6-3 win, it saw the Dutchman take a 2-0 lead but struggled to hit his doubles to extend that so it ended up being a 3-2 deficit. From there though he didn't lose a leg after that finishing superbly with a 92 finish in 20-D18-D18.

It is Double Dutch in the next round with Martijn Kleermaker also through despite knowing he will need to improve next time around.

He averaged only 79 despite four 180's but this came down to the doubles with the Dutch Giant hitting 6/24 but it was a 73 average for his opponent Markus Buffler who hit no 180's himself and was 3/18 on his doubles.
