Hunt smashes Heta, Clemens hits 104 average in win over Siepmann in all-German clash

The first night of action at the European Darts Grand Prix has concluded with Adam Hunt, Gabriel Clemens and William O'Connor through to Saturday.

Hunt was facing off against Brisbane Darts Master, Damon Heta but eased past the Aussie ace in a 6-1 win which included a 100 average. This featured two 180's and 55% on the doubles from 'The Hunter'. Rob Cross is next and if the North East thrower can produce another similar display, he could be a threat this weekend.

The same can be said for home hero Gabriel Clemens who eclipsed that display soon after with a 104 average in seeing off fellow German ace, Steffen Siepmann in a 6-3 win.

His doubling in particular caught the eye with 6/9 and despite only one 180 a telling stat in the disparity in the averages came from the 140's.

'The German Giant' concluded with 10 while Siepmann only hit one all match with only 7 overall over 100+. Next up will be James Wade tomorrow.

While for William O'Connor, he will face off against Nathan Aspinall after edging past Chris Dobey in the final match of the night. He will be looking to keep his European Championship hopes alive this weekend and in seeing off 'Hollywood' has done so.
