Adrian Lewis and Stephen Bunting were withdrawn from the World Grand Prix after a positive Coronavirus test on entering the bubble this week.
Both players had to leave the venue in Coventry with immediate effect and go home to self-isolate for the designated period. Jeffrey de Zwaan and Simon Whitlock will be drafted in as replacements and will play in a bumper session tonight.
But for no players despite seemingly catching the virus, they have no symptoms and for Lewis, time away due to his ranking could prove costly with the quarantine meaning he would miss the next European Tour event.
"Absolutely gutted that I won’t be involved in this great event. I followed all safety procedures since this virus has been about and I have no symptoms. I am off home now to quarantine as advised by UK government. Thank you to everyone for your support," wrote Bunting on Twitter.
"Absolutely gutted to have tested positive for Coronavirus, I have no symptoms. Thanks for all your best wishes. Hope I can get back to my tournaments as soon as possible," said Lewis also through Twitter.
