Saturday night at the European Darts Trophy saw Michael van Gerwen survive a scare against Niko Springer, while Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price both made it through.
Van Gerwen is a former champion at the Lokhalle in 2017 and 2018 and silenced the home crowd who were baying for their home hope to seal the win. But instead he will return to face Gian van Veen tomorrow.
Luke Humphries needed a huge finish to dent the resolve of Boris Krcmar, while Gerwyn Price hit checkouts of 167 and 136 to stop Ryan Searle. Martin Schindler also starred averaging almost 107 as he sent the home fans home happy.

Nathan Aspinall finally saw off Ritchie Edhouse narrowly as he produced a 13-dart leg in order to complete a superb win. This sets up such ties as Gerwyn Price v Wessel Nijman, MVG v Gian van Veen and Luke Humphries v Michael Smith which will headline the schedule.
