Luke Humphries' impressive run of form continues at the Players Championship Finals. The 28-year-old Englishman was too strong in the last sixteen with a 10-7 win over Ryan Searle.
Humphries certainly didn't have it all his own way against Searle. "He's so underrated I think he's he's one of the toughest players to beat," Humphries told Online Darts post-match. "He's up there with the top heavy scorers in the world so, for me I knew I had it really really tough going there."

Yet Humphries never panicked. "I don't ever worry anymore. I think I've had a great couple of months, if he'd comeback at me and won the game that I'd have just shook his hand and that fairy tale last couple of weeks would have been over. But I'm still riding the wave. I'm still here, I'm still going, I'm still winning."
Humphries may have another long day ahead of him tomorrow; he must win three matches if he is to grab a third major title. "These are tough days. They do require a lot of energy out of you but I've taken that experience over from the European Tour and that is helping I think. I've played in so many of them, ten finals now. And then obviously, last weekend, that was a long slog as well so I think I'm starting to cope better."
'Cool Hand Luke' is already hoping for a final against Michael van Gerwen. "My dream is to beat Michael in the final because regardless who's world number one, you know obviously Phil Taylor's not here so I can't play him in the final, but to beat Michael in the final, that would really tickle the taste buds. I think that is what I've always wanted to do, beat the best player in the world."
