Stephen Bunting has qualified for the quarterfinals of the Players Championship Finals. 'The Bullet' defeated Kim Huybrechts 10-8 in the last 16. A duel with Michael van Gerwen awaits in the quarter-finals.
Bunting also defeated Gian van Veen 6-1 earlier in the day. "The first game I played some really good darts to be fair. 105 average and double were great. Playing Gian is never an easy task and I wish him well in the Youth Final against Luke Littler because that's a game I'm very much looking forward to watching," Bunting said.

Battling illness, Bunting hopes to be feeling better tomorrow. "I said to my manager beforehand I just wasn't feeling it. I was struggling to get some water down me and it just made me extra nervous. Apart from throwing up I think I did everything else to try and get rid of that feeling so like I said I'm just happy to get over the line."
Bunting came to this tournament already with a lot of confidence. "I've played really well recently and this weekend apart from this game, but there were excuses for me. Everyone keeps telling me I've got my foot in the door for this and that but I'm just happy to keep getting over the line."
The 38-year-old Englishman will take on Michael van Gerwen in the quarter-finals. "Who cares? As long as I turn up and play my game, I've got a chance."
