The Quarter-Finals are set at the Hungarian Darts Trophy with Luke Humphries in particular standing out on Sunday afternoon. The World No.1 hit an incredible 113 to thrash Mike de Decker.
In addition there were wins for Danny Noppert who dumped out Michael van Gerwen at the Hungarian Darts Trophy, Luke Littler saw off European Tour king Martin Schindler while Niko Springer continued his remarkably good form.

But first to Humphries who hit a 113.05 average, six 180's and two ton plus checkouts en route to seeing off De Decker 6-1 who averaged 93 himself so not exactly a poor effort from the Belgian. It just wasn't enough to trouble 113.
Humphries was ominous right from the start with the World No.1 turning in a 146 checkout as he went 1-0 up. He hit double four to hold to make it 2-0. But after De Decker got on the board, he went on a bit of a tear hitting an 11-darter on 41 after hitting 180 to leave the double 16 outshot and this was just to hold.
To break, it was back-to-back 11-darters as he pinned 96 on double 18 for 4-1. He then added a 122 checkout for a 12-darter for 5-1 before he completed the job on double 18. Albeit after De Decker had previously missed darts to stay in it on multiple occasions. He now faces Niko Springer.
Springer has always been superb dangerous anyway but he saw off Rob Cross to anchor the German hopes this weekend. It was a 6-3 win for the unassuming German who averaged 93 in the end with a high checkout of 107. He defied a 170 checkout also in the process to complete it and now gets a fired up Cool Hand Luke for his troubles.
The first Quarter-Final sees Chris Dobey face Danny Noppert. Dobey had to hold his nerve to see off Cameron Menzies 6-5 with a 98.4 average and five 180's just about getting through. While for Noppert, he vanquished the champion in Amsterdam last week in Michael van Gerwen.
Many chimed that MVG is back after he won the title last week but it seems some work is still needed. Noppert punished his compatriot to the hilt with four missed match darts from the defending champion and Noppert snatched it in a decider with a 101.4 average. MVG opened up with a 78 checkout on double six.
He then added a 100 checkout for a rip roaring start and an 11-darter. But Noppert broke back and then he held after initially missing 127 on the bull. He broke once more with the missed darts at double starting to become a real issue for MVG. But Van Gerwen remained in the fight and hit a 52 checkout for 4-4. He then proceeded to hit a 124 out on the bull for 5-4 but he missed multiple darts to win it and Noppert took full advantage. He now faces Dobey for a semi-final spot.

Price v Littler and Wade v Rock incoming

We then get perhaps the tie of the round as Gerwyn Price faces Luke Littler in the Quarter-Finals. Littler dismantled Martin Schindler who has made the European Tour his own in recent years. But it was a 6-2 win with a 99.2 average, four 180's and a high checkout of 140 for the World Champion.
Schindler only averaged 89.5 in defeat. While Gerwyn Price ended the swansong effort of Raymond van Barneveld who has been incredibly good this weekend. But he hit a wall against The Iceman who won 6-2 with a 102.5 average and four 180's. Price continuing to be the nemesis for a resurgent Barney and now he gets Littler.
Then James Wade has reached a fourth consecutive Quarter-Final on the European Tour coasting past Kim Huybrechts. Perhaps one of the most in-form men in world darts right now, he continues to show why he won't be ignored. He won 6-2 with a 100.5 average and 60% on the doubles. Very much a James Wade performance from start to finish. He now gets Josh Rock who also can be lumped into the incredible bracket and he saw off Thibault Tricole 6-3 who made history by getting this far.
But he couldn't trouble the Northern Irishman who continues to go from strength to strength. Such is the case when you reach a sixth European Tour Quarter-Final of the season in seeing off 'The French Touch' 6-3 with four 180's and a 98 average. He now gets Wade in what like Price and Littler could be one to savour.
