Raymond van Barneveld has qualified for the last eight at the Dutch Darts Masters in Den Bosch with a hard-fought victory over
Rob Cross. After an exciting match, he won 6-5 over Rob Cross as
Luke Littler breezed past
Dirk van Duijvenbode.
Van Barneveld fell behind 0-2 early in the match, then Cross failed to make it 0-3. Cross missed seven chances for a wider lead, and then Van Barneveld came back to 2-2.
Thanks to an 11-darter in the seventh leg, the Dutchman then took the lead for the first time. However, Cross broke back immediately and managed to make it 5-4 with a 110 finish. Van Barneveld then forced a final leg with a 17-darter. Cross started the last leg and got his first match darts, but missed two match darts. Then it was Van Barneveld who took advantage with a 13-darter.
Dirk van Duijvenbode did not make an impact against teenage sensation Luke Littler. The young Englishman, who was the best at the Bahrain Darts Masters recently, triumphed 6-2 against 'Aubergenius'.
