With just a couple of weeks to go the 2025 World Darts Championship, the PDC has updated its alternative world rankings. This takes some account of the last 200 legs played by each Tour Card holder.
On the official world rankings, he is fourth after his first full year on the Pro Tour, but on the alternative world rankings, Littler ranks neatly in first place. The 17-year-old Englishman, who recently won the Grand Slam of Darts, towers miles above the rest in terms of averages. Littler averaged a whopping 104.22 during his last 200 legs. This makes him the only player to achieve a 100+ average. His doubles percentage of 46.36% is also the best of all players.
Honorable second behind the teenage phenomenon is
Gary Anderson. 'The Flying Scotsman' lost 16-15 to Littler in a terrific semifinal at the Grand Slam of Darts and has been posting high averages all year. Anderson, who has climbed back to 14th in the official world rankings, clocked in his last 200 legs at an average of 99.43 and 39.68% on his doubles.
The top three is completed by
Luke Humphries. The number one on the official world ranking list recently won the Players Championship Finals. During his last 200 legs he achieved an average of 99.37 and 40.66% on his doubles.
With
Wessel Nijman and
Gian van Veen, in fifth and sixth place respectively, we also find two of the biggest Dutch prospects in the top 10. Nijman achieved an average of 98.57 and 39.92% on his doubles during his last 200 legs. Van Veen, last week's winner of the World Youth Championship, averaged 97.73 and 45.20% on his doubles. On the official world ranking list we find both Dutchmen in 58th and 28th place respectively.
What all this means for the upcoming trip to the Ally Pally remains to be seen, but it certainly gives a good indication about who the players to watch could be heading in.
