Gerwyn Price has won Night Three of the 2025 Premier League Darts. 'The Iceman' defeated Nathan Aspinall 6-3 in the final in Dublin on Thursday night, climbing to second place in the overall standings. Price thus also positions himself as one of the top favourites for next week's UK Open.
Price defeated Luke Littler in the quarter-finals and Luke Humphries in the semi-finals on his way to the final, before as mentioned, seeing off Aspinall in the final to take his first weekly title of the 2025 Premier League Darts season. “It was a great night for me,” reflected Price when speaking to the media afterwards. “I’m not sure what it is but Luke Littler seems to bring the best out of me, so that was a great game to come through. Then to beat the World Champion was big for me; I felt like the crowd got me through that game. It was like I was playing in Cardiff again!"
“I started a little bit slowly against Nathan [Aspinall]. I missed a couple of opportunities," Price continues his assessment of the night's performances. "But I found my feet and I’m really glad to get a vital five points."
Price reached the final of the Bahrain Darts Masters, a World Series of Darts tournament, earlier this year. He also recently added a title at the Players Championship. The 39-year-old Welshman therefore seems to be more than ready for the UK Open, which is scheduled for next week.
"I mean everybody knows that I can win tournaments. I can win any single event that comes around the corner, but you know, it's just about which one of me turns up. So fingers crossed," Price previews. "But it's been a good start to 2025 and hopefully, I can carry that right through."
