Mark Dudbridge beats Adrian Lewis in first JBD Butlin's Cup final

Mark Dudbridge has won the first tournament of the JDB Butlin's Cup 2024. At the event, he held off Adrian Lewis, Andy Hamilton and Wayne Mardle.

The JBD Butlin's Cup consists of five dates of play at holiday parks in the United Kingdom. In it, Dudbridge, Lewis, Hamilton and Mardle work through one tournament each and the player with the most wins after five tournaments is crowned the winner.

The first tournament was played at Butlin's Resort Minehead, which also hosts the annual UK Open and Players Championship Finals. The first semifinal was between Lewis and Hamilton, a repeat of the 2012 World Cup final. Lewis managed to win this duel 4-3 thanks to two 11-darters.

Dudbridge and Mardle faced each other in the other semifinal. This match was won 4-0 by Dudbridge. 'Flash' tried another high by going for three bullseye at 150, but the third bullseye was just missed.

In the final Lewis took a 3-2 lead, but in the sixth leg 'Jackpot' missed two match darts. Dudbridge then used two bull finishes to win 4-3.

Dudbridge thus leads the rankings after the first tournament with two wins. Later this year, tournaments will be played in Skegness (June 15), Bognor (Sept. 29), Minehead (Oct. 20) and Minehead (Nov. 21).
