A clinical Martin Schindler despatched Karel Sedlacek 6-2 and Ryan Searle comfortably beat Bradley Brooks 6-1 despite not hitting top form before Jose de Sousa edged out Ross Smith 6-5.

After Rusty-Jake Rodriguez and Gabriel Clemens had emerged victorious earlier in the afternoon, Martin Schindler took on Karel Sedlacek in the 3rd game.

It was the German, who took the opener with an 18 dart hold, backing it up with an 18 dart break in the following leg. A brilliantly timed 180 set up Schindler perfectly for a 90 finish that he duly took out to rush into a 3-0 lead.

"Evil Charlie" responded with a top class 12 darter to get a first leg on the board and after Schindler wired the bull for a 5-1 lead, Sedlacek checked out 80 to keep in touch a 4-2.

However after making a mess of a 40 finish, Sedlacek's hopes were ended by a clinical 2 dart 85 checkout by Schindler, 6-2 the final score.

"Heavy Metal" Ryan Searle was up against young Bradley Brooks in the next game. It was Searle who came out of the blocks the fastest, racing into an early lead despite a few missed darts at double.

In truth Bradley Brooks was nowhere near his best today, averaging in the 70s. As such despite not getting out of 2nd gear himself, Searle was always comfortable in a 6-1 win.

In a top quality opening to the 5th match of the afternoon, Ross Smith took the opening leg before, Jose de Sousa fired back with a 12 darter only for Smith to rebreak the throw with a stunning 136 checkout.

Another ton plus finish, this time 110, saw "Smudger" take a 4-2 lead. D10 came to de Sousa's rescue when Smith was sat on 32 for the match, keeping the Portuguese hopes alive.

Ross Smith then missed 2 match darts at D6 and D3 before de Sousa cleaned up 25 to take us into a deciding leg. 2 more match darts would come and go at D18 with "The Special One" taking out 52 for victory, 6-5.
