Huybrechts reaches second round with support of home crowd: 'I was never as nervous as tonight'

Kim Huybrechts struggled to qualify for the second round of the Belgian Darts Open. The Hurricane defeated Steve West 6-4 despite averaging 82.

"This was not good'', Huybrechts admitted to VTM 2. "But what a great crowd, I have goosebumps on my arms. I played in the Premier League in front of venues filled with about 10000 people, but I was never as nervous as tonight."

Huybrechts takes on Michael van Gerwen in the second round. "It will have to be a lot better then, but I am confident I can shift up a gear. Especially with the support of the crowd, I am capable of a lot."
