Luke Littler claimed a record equalling fourth nightly win on Night Eight of the Premier League Darts in Newcastle on Thursday as he saw off Luke Humphries 6-1 in the final.

Littler spoke afterwards about developing a fear factor as the best player in the world and admitted that he should perhaps call himself the best player in the world. He began the night averaging 109.98 in his win over Stephen Bunting.
He followed that up with a 6-3 success over Rob Cross in the semi-finals before smashing Humphries and amid changing his throw mid final, he said both players also felt tired also likely behind Humphries' poor display. 'Cool Hand Luke' also played in Gottingen last weekend so hasn't stopped as such while Littler has only played Premier League in recent weeks.
"I'm happy with my performances tonight, obviously drifted off towards the end. Feeling a bit tired but I'm just glad to get over that winning line in the final. Going into the semi-final I knew I was three or two 180's away (from 200), I think coming into tonight I was top on 92 and Humphries was second on 44 and it just shows how well my power scoring is," said Littler.
"My normal throw that I was throwing with I just felt tired so I changed it up a bit. After the match Luke said he was tired but I just had to stick in there."
"I think that goes to show how everyone does say I'm the best in the world at the minute but you know me I'll never really say I'm the best in the world but I'm performing better than these guys so maybe I should be saying I'm best in the world. But we'll just see how it goes."
"For myself when I'm playing certain players I know when I've got them and it goes to show. Luke Humphries he shows a bit too much and as a player you're like he's at 60 or 41 and he's not happy about it then his next throw he is the same score so you just have to pounce."

"Last week I said I want to finish top again and go back-to-back and obviously no I'm fighting for top and break the nightly win record. I think I'm two clear than the rest of the lads that have won so the main goal is to win the fifth one and see what happens next."
