Michael van Gerwen and Gabriel Clemens complete quarter-final lineup at European Darts Grand Prix

Victories for Michael van Gerwen and Gabriel Clemens have rounded out the Sunday afternoon session of the 2024 European Darts Grand Prix, with both men completing the quarter-final lineup in Sindelfingen.

For van Gerwen, it was a tricky last 16 tie against Jonny Clayton. With both players struggling to find top gear, the contest was nip and tuck in the early stages as both players exchanged legs. In the end though, it the consistent missing of doubles for Clayton that proved costly. With the scoreline at 4-4, van Gerwen moved back in front via an 18-dart leg finished on double tops and then secured the 6-4 win with a 16-dart break of throw after Clayton had missed two darts to force a deciding leg.

Completing the quarter-final lineup, Gabriel Clemens was very impressive in a 6-3 win over Dave Chisnall, averaging 101.43 in the process.
