Ross Smith punishes multiple missed matchdarts from Ritchie Edhouse; set to face Damon Heta in European Darts Grand Prix quarterfinals

Ross Smith and Damon Heta have set up a quarter-final showdown later this evening at the European Darts Grand Prix after last 16 wins over Ritchie Edhouse and Scott Williams respectively this afternoon in Sindelfingen.

Edhouse has impressed strongly on the European Tour in recent weeks and looked solid again in this one. Despite both players not being fully at their best, it was an intriguing contest and eventually the tie went all the way to a last-leg decider. In the 11th and final leg, Edhouse had victory in the palm of his hands. After six missed match darts however, Smith punished royally to advance to the quarter-finals himself.

In the last eight, 'Smudger' will face Damon Heta. The Australian number one was a clear winner over World Darts Championship semi-finalist Scott Williams, punishing some lax finishing to secure himself a 6-2 victory, averaging a touch shy of 93.
