Michael van Gerwen was the story of the night at the
Czech Darts Open as the Dutch juggernaut announced himself back into the top table with an emphatic 112 average as he saw off Mike de Decker 6-0. He is joined on the final day by
Luke Humphries,
Luke Littler and Gerwyn Price among others.
It was an 11-darter to open for MVG as he took out 81 and followed it up with a 13-darter for 2-0 on double 16. Van Gerwen hit another 11-darter with an 86 checkout. Van Gerwen held with an incredible 154 checkout. He broke again on double 17 and sealed the win with a 112 average.
Whether he now backs it up is a different matter but aid question marks surrounding the Green Machine, it was good to see him return towards his best and the hope will be he can now kick on.
Follow the Czech Darts Open 2025 via our live scores!Luke Littler made light work of Cameron Menzies to reach the final day. He won 6-2 with a 99 average as he looks to add the Czech Darts Open to his two World Series and World Matchplay triumph with only different winners being on the ProTour which he has barely played.
Littler was already into a 3-0 lead early on. A 13-darter to start followed by an 11-dart break on double 20. He added a 105 checkout to that as Menzies was not taking his chances. Menzies was finally on the board albeit he had to hit a 109 checkout to do it. Littler held again since for a 4-1 lead.
A 64 checkout albeit a 21-darter for Littler saw him continue and he was one away from the win. Menzies couldn't take out 108 and Littler was on hand for double 10 after missing a dart off 68 for the win. Into the final day with ease.
Josh Rock also impressed as he took down William O'Connor 6-2 including a filthy 101 checkout using bull, single 1, bull to do it as he hit a 97 average, also a 130 checkout and 42.9% on the doubles.
Price, Cross and Wade impress
While to open the night, it was a pretty simple double header for Rob Cross and Gerwyn Price. Cross won 6-1 against Krzysztof Ratajski with a 97 average. He broke on double two for 2-0 and surged into a 4-1 lead. An 11-darter to seal it for Cross. He hit double 18 to claim it with Ratajski way back.
Gerwyn Price on the other hand was back with a bang as he saw off Niko Springer. Starting with a 13-darter, he broke with a 136 checkout for 2-1 before consolidating on double 20. He hit a 58 checkout on double 20 and was two away. Springer hit a 92 checkout to hold after Price had gone one away but Price was throwing for the win at 5-2. Price sealed the deal from there.
A 100 average, a high checkout of 136 and three ton topping checkouts as well as 6/7 on the doubles. Prolific from Price. After issues with his hand, it would be easy to think he might not come back in style but he did.

James Wade made Nathan Aspinall wait which saw ‘The Asp’ hilariously look at his watch. A lot has been made in recent weeks including on Darts Draait Door the podcast with Vincent van der Voort about Wade overdoing it when it comes to signing autographs on the walk-on. But in reality, Wade wasn’t in no mood to hang about when he got on the oche.
Early on, it was the tale of holds so far as Wade hit double 12 to go 2-1 up with no breaks as of then. Holding with an 11-darter for 3-2 on double 20, Wade broke with a 65 checkout on double 20 for 4-2. He completed the job from there with a near 107 average, sheer domination from ‘The Machine’ who hit 71.4% on the outer ring as well as five 180’s. Just unstoppable.
Luke Humphries perhaps less so as he just fell over the line against Dirk van Duijvenbode with an 86 average. Early on, missed darts from Van Duijvenbode saw Humphries takesadvantage to great effect. He pins double five to get on the board at 1-0. Van Duijvenbode had the impetus back though. He pinned double 10 for a hold and then broke on double 16 to make it 2-2. He was now throwing for the lead.
Albeit after missing the bull for 161, Humphries returned to clean up double eight and was suddenly throwing for a 4-2 lead. Humphries was on track for the win from there. He pinned double five for a 5-2 lead. But it was not over as Van Duijvenbode as he pinned double 20 to break back and then double 16 for 5-4 to hold. Humphries was now is throwing win it. Humphries missed a hatful of doubles but managed to just about fall over the line to reach the final day in Prague.

Also Stephen Bunting is through after taking down Kevin Doets. It has been a sterling few months for ‘The Bullet’ who has been one of the most in-form men in world darts and despite some issues getting over the line in the end, he managed to seal it 6-4.
Doets opened with a 16 darter after Bunting missed 150 but 'The Bullet' returned for double 20 for 1-1. Bunting broke for 2-1 on double 10 and consolidated for 3-1 on double six. Half way to victory for 'The Bullet’. He pinned double 16 and Doets had the throw to go one down once more in the race to six at 4-2. Doets hit a 20 darter after Bunting had a chance to break throw again but without a Doets break, it was likely curtains for the Dutchman.
Bunting missed multiple darts to seal the win and it was 5-4. But he finally fell over the line with a 100 checkout at 6-4.
