The PDC reported a special milestone Wednesday. In the world rankings as of Wednesday, Sept. 6, the entire top-50 players in the world rankings have at least £100,000 in prize money standing in the rankings.
And that is a first since the world rankings were created in this form in 2007. Since then, the world rankings have been formed with the prize money earned in ranking tournaments over a two-year period.
Currently, 29 players have more than £200,000 in prize money on the
PDC Order of Merit, while nine players have earned more than half a million in ranking money.
Michael Smith,
Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright are currently the only three players with more than one million in prize money on the world rankings.
