Luke Littler returned to European Tour action on Sunday evening in Munich as he battled Cameron Crabtree in the second round of the 2025 German Darts Grand Prix. The world champion was somewhere close to his brilliant best too, dominantly dispatched a helpless Crabtree 6-1.
In the performance of the evening session, the 18-year-old world number two was unleashed in Munich, taking just 10 minutes or so to blow Crabtree out of the water and ease through to the last 16. After a pair of 12 darters to open the match, Littler then reeled off three straight 14 darters to stretch into a 5-0 lead and threaten the Euro Tour record average. Credit to Crabtree though, he took a rare chance in the 6th leg to get on the board, but there was no incredible comeback as the world champion secured victory with a 15-darter in leg 7.
“Everything went well there, I’m very happy,” said the top seed in his on stage interview with the PDC afterwards, having finished with an average of more than 107.
Although Littler enjoyed an incredibly successful debut year on the PDC Pro Tour in 2024, the German Darts Grand Prix was one of the tournament the teenage sensation didn't qualify for. As such, this Easter weekend marks 'The Nuke's Munich debut.
“It’s my first time in Munich and hopefully I can pick up another trophy by tomorrow," concludes Littler with his trademark self-confidence. “If I play like this again tomorrow, I will be happy.”
In the last 16 this Monday afternoon, Littler is set to face off against Joe Cullen in the final match of the afternoon session. Having already lifted a title on the Euro Tour in 2025, is more success around the corner for the world champion?
