Nentjes ahead of playing in PDC Home Tour Play-Offs: “I go in without expectations. Then I will see what happens”

Geert Nentjes makes his second appearance on Friday evening during the PDC Home Tour. The Dutchman qualified as a group winner in the first phase for the last 32.

The 21-year-old came through a group with Ross Smith, Mickey Mansell and Lisa Ashton. Not only were the results of Nentjes good, his form was also up there.

Nentjes threw 100, 95 and 99 average in his games. The Dutchman was also surprised by this, he told Darts News. “I surprised myself with that. Hopefully I can take that form into Friday night.”

The two-time PDC Development Tour winner awaits a tough task on Friday evening to reach the last eight. His opponents are Dave Chisnall, Darren Webster and Damon Heta.

All players who have already proven themselves on the big stage. Nentjes therefore goes there without expectations. “I played against both Heta and Chisnall once. I lost to Heta and beat Chisnall. I have never faced Webster. I go in without expectations. Then I will see what happens.”

For Nentjes, the PDC Home Tour is no more than an extra in the era of Coronavirus. However, that does not mean that he is going to prepare less seriously.

“I feel less nervous. Whether the chance of a surprise in this setting is greater? I think so. Last time I threw a bit better than I did in England (on the Pro Tour).''

“If I won the PDC Home Tour it wouldn't give the same feeling as if I won a Pro Tour. If I won this, people would think I cheated'', he joked. Then in a serious tone: "But I will take a few hours to make sure I am ready.”
