Nordic Darts Masters 2024 Field: Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen missing from World Series tournament in Denmark

On Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8, the fourth edition of the Nordic Darts Masters will be played. This World Series tournament was previously on the PDC calendar in 2021 and 2023 and, like the previous editions, will be played in the Danish capital of Copenhagen.

It is the only chance for fans in Scandinavia to see the PDC top players live in their own region. In the past, a Euro Tour tournament was still played in Copenhagen, but it ceased to exist after 2019. In 2021, the PDC returned to Denmark and then Michael van Gerwen managed to win the first edition of the Nordic Darts Masters by beating surprise finalist Fallon Sherrock in the final. Dimitri van den Bergh (2022) and Peter Wright (2023) are the other former winners of this tournament.
As with every World Series tournament, the field of participants consists of eight PDC top players and eight players from the region where the tournament is being played. Unfortunately for Danish fans, Michael van Gerwen and Luke Littler have chosen not to travel to Denmark. They have chosen to go on holiday for a week.
World champion Luke Humphries will be in attendance. In addition, Michael Smith, Nathan Aspinall, Gerwyn Price, Rob Cross, Peter Wright, Dimitri van den Bergh and Stephen Bunting have also received invitations. Bunting was called up as Van Gerwen's replacement after 'The Bullet' won his first PDC major at the Masters early this season.
Madars Razma, Benjamin Drue-Reus and Jeffrey de Graaf lead the lineup of Nordic & Baltic representatives. They are the only three players from Scandinavia with a PDC Tour Card. They are joined by Marko Kantele, Johan Engstrom, Vladimir Andersen, Dennis Nilsson and Daniel Larsson.
On Friday, June 7, the first round of the Nordic Darts Masters will be played. The draw will pair a PDC player with a regional player. The quarterfinals, semifinals and finals are on Saturday, June 8.
