The qualifying race for the 2024 Women's World Matchplay is nearing its conclusion. On the weekend of June 15 and 16, the final four tournaments that count toward this qualifying race will be played.
The eight women who performed best in the last 12 Women's Series tournaments of 2023 and the first 12 Women's Series tournaments of 2024 will receive an invitation to participate in the Women's World Matchplay.
Six players are already sure of qualification. Beau Greaves and Fallon Sherrock appear to be deciding between top seed in Blackpool. Greaves leads the ranking with 21,500 pounds, followed by Sherrock with 17,500 pounds. Mikuru Suzuki, Lisa Ashton, Noa-Lynn van Leuven and Rhian O'Sullivan are also certain of playing in the Women's World Matchplay.
The top eight is currently completed by Anastasia Dobromyslova and Katie Sheldon. However Natalie Gilbert, Robyn Byrne and Aileen de Graaf are on their tail. They still have every chance to play their way into the field of competitors during the final weekend of qualifying.
The third edition of the Women's World Matchplay will take place in Blackpool on July 21. Sherrock won the first edition in 2022, while Greaves claimed the title in 2023.

With Van Leuven already qualified the seven other qualifiers should all withdraw en masse, which of course they will not. A win for Van leuven could be the best thing as it will likely get a lot of media attention and the winds of change are starting to blow. Bazza, Eddie and Matt will not like any negativity and a Van Leuven win will attract high profile organisations such as Sex Matters and notable anti trans celebs such as Rowling, Sharon Davies, Julie Bindel and others. It could become very ugly. Popcorn anyone?
And yet... most sane folks can see the XY Chromosome (fraud) is nothing more than a cheat who had very limited success in the men's events. It is nothing to do with, "Anti trans"... it is to do with the obvious fact that Van Leuven is a man who should (excuse the pun) man-up and play in the men's events. It's amazing how many folks are hoodwinked by this media BS and let this happen - in a similar way to Man City, Red Bull... folks seem to turn a blind eye to it.
A couple things she transitioned in 2012 so i hardly think playing in any womens series had anything to do with her making such a life changing decision. She also started playing the Challenge tour and won her first event beating some off the best non TC holders along the way including Pilgrim, Henderson and Crabtree and three funny how no one was really bothering when she started playing in 2022 and not being competitive at all.
Began the transition in 2012, not completed. Transitioned in 2022 to meet the requirements to play in womens tournaments, hence why suddenly appeared in competition. (I noticed this new competitor at the time coming from nowhere). Van Leuvens career is down as beginning from 2022 yet there is reference to playing darts for 9 years prior to this. These 9 years was playing as? I have referenced before that its unlikely that any sportsperson would solely transition just to specifically win (by transition i do not mean just declaring yourself a woman or a man) however i know of transitioners who have done so to improve chances in respective categories that they wish to partake in. How do i know? Because they told me. It’s not wide knowledge as to Van Leuvens transitioning spectrum position (as in surgeries, hormones etc) and its probably not really anyone’s business unless of course its denying someone something from a biological standpoint.
Transition means nothing... he still has testosterone - thus makes him a man... just like on his birth certificate. You can try and muddy the water as much as you like... however, it is still cheating. If his fellow female professional darts players are objecting - then there is an obvious issue.
It becomes people's business when it is a biological man who is gaining an unfair advantage. Funny how all this trans nonsense has become so prominent over the past few years... just to appease certain types. You can whinge as many times as you want... as it seems to be only you that does not see the real problem.
Nice to see Anastasia doing well, be good to see her in Blackpool. Looks like Van Leuven will be there, shame. Come on Lorraine Winstanly, you can't have a major without Lorraine. I can't believe Paula Jokelin is as high as 103
That's the problem, Richie. Van Leuven will get all of the favours now, I really do feel for the women who have to put up with XY chromosome imposter. Apart from that... the tournament will be well worth a view.
