"Thank god it's over" exclaims Luke Littler on Premier League Darts travelling schedule

Luke Littler sealed the Premier League Darts crown in a whirlwind debut campaign for the 17-year-old who emerged at Christmas as the worldwide sensation who everyone was talking about. But he is glad despite winning the title to have the Premier League concluded.

He conceded that the travelling was the main problem. Littler had to often play on the Friday night on a European Tour meaning he would head straight from the Premier League often to Germany to play again and the same again the following week. So he is very much pleased to have that concluded.

His travelling will cease slightly despite a block of ProTours being on the horizon. He has decided against playing the Nordic Darts Masters this weekend in order to go on holiday. The first real pick and choose from the player that the tournaments all went on their line-up. Speaking in New York, he said that now the Premier League is over he can balance his commitments a bit more.

"It's sunk in, obviously with coming here (New York) and travelling everywhere it's just getting on with the next thing," Littler told Mirror Sport.

"I just think to myself, maybe in a few years time an older Luke Littler will look back and see what I've done at the minute."

"It's just what we have to do. Now that the Premier League is over, thank god it's over, the travelling on Friday at like three or four in the morning, and then people expecting you to play your best darts on Friday night, it was just difficult. Now the Premier League is over we can sort of balance it out and see what we play in."
