Krzysztof Ratajski has once again shown he can excel away from the international PDC stage. The Polish thrower recently won a local pairs event in his home country, and did so with a striking partner: his wife Karolina.

For Ratajski, it was a chance to enjoy the sport in a different setting. Teaming up with his spouse, he formed a winning duo as the Polish pair pulled clear of the field. For those who know Karolina’s background, the victory was anything but a shock.
Karolina Ratajska, formerly known as Karolina Podgórska, has a solid résumé in women’s darts. Now 38, the Pole competed for years at national and international level and became a fixture on the Polish women’s circuit.
Under her maiden name Podgórska she posted several notable results. She won the Romanian Classic Women and the Romanian Open Women, and also took the Police Masters Women. This year she reached the final at the tenth event of the PDC Women's Series, losing there to Beau Greaves.

Narrow defeat at the BDO World Championship

The biggest stage Karolina reached was the BDO World Championship. In 2019 she made her bow at the now-defunct federation’s Worlds. In the opening round she went down by the tightest of margins to legendary figure Trina Gulliver. In doing so, she followed in the footsteps of several other Polish players who previously stepped up to the international stage.

Although Karolina now appears less prominently than during her peak competitive years, her experience still tells. She proved that alongside her husband at the local pairs event. For Ratajski, a long-standing PDC regular, she was anything but an inexperienced partner.
