Luke Woodhouse all smiles at the 2026 Winmau World Masters
The Winmau World Masters 2026 was the first major of the year, and it delivered immediately. Across the tournament, players produced a remarkable 23 averages of 100+, a new event record.
Even more eye-catching was a quirky stat behind those numbers. Eleven of the 23 came from players named Luke, and the very highest of them all belonged to a name few would have predicted.
That honour went to Luke Woodhouse. In his opening round clash with Martin Schindler, Woodhouse fired in a stunning 108.64 average, a personal best and the highest of the entire tournament. In round two, he narrowly lost 4-3 to namesake Luke Humphries, but still averaged comfortably above 102. Humphries, however, landed 105, good enough for the eighth-highest average recorded over the weekend.

Humphries and Littler dominate the numbers

Humphries appears no fewer than four times in the top ten highest averages. Given that he played five matches in total, it shows just how consistent ‘Cool Hand Luke’ was throughout the event. He sits fourth with 107.80 in the semi-final, seventh with 105.51 in the final, and tenth with 104.13 in his opening match. His quarter-final against Danny Noppert also produced 101.67, meaning Humphries averaged over 100 in every match he played.
Tournament winner Luke Littler, who defeated Humphries 6-5 in the final, features three times on the list. His second round average of 107.88 ranks third overall. In the quarter final, he posted 105.72, and in the final, he added 104.72 to the collection.
The remaining two places in the top ten belong to Gerwyn Price and Nathan Aspinall. Price sits second with 108.51 from his opening match against James Hurrell and also recorded 102.66 in round two against Jonny Clayton. Aspinall takes sixth spot thanks to a 105.80 average in his first round match.
Just outside the top ten are Gian van Veen and James Wade, both of whom produced two 100+ averages. They met in the quarter-final, where Van Veen averaged 102.66, and Wade threw 103.68. Van Veen also hit 102.93 in his semi-final against Humphries despite losing 5-0. Wade’s other 100+ display came in his opening match against Madars Razma, where he averaged 102.56.
