In the quarterfinals of the
Czech Darts Open, we get a rematch of the World Grand Prix final, as
Luke Humphries will face
Mike de Decker. The reigning world champion put in a very convincing performance against Gian van Veen.
In the early stages Van Veen led 0-2, but Humphries put things right with two 14-darters. Another 14-darter and a 170 finish made it 4-2 for 'Cool Hand Luke'. The Englishman then decided the match with two 15-darters, bringing his average to 106.81.
While De Decker made it to the last eight of a Euro Tour tournament Sunday afternoon for the third time in his career. With a convincing 6-2 victory over Martin Schindler, he qualified for the quarterfinals of the Czech Darts Open.
He continues to show his final victory at the World Grand Prix was no fluke. In his first two matches at the Czech Darts Open he already threw an average of over 100 and against Schindler he succeeded again with an average of 104.60.
The Belgian hit a 74 finish to take a 1-0 lead and after Schindler made it 1-1, De Decker ran out to a 3-1 lead with a 156 finish and a 12-darter. Schindler broke back with a 15-darter, but then delivered his own leg again. A 14-darter and a 15-darter brought De Decker to 5-2, after which he closed the match with a 15-darter.
