Only Lukas Wenig and Dragutin Horvat remain unbeaten after opening day of PDC Europe Super League

Lukas Wenig and Dragutin Horvat remain the only players unbeaten after the first day of play of the PDC Europe Super League after all players played the first five of 10 group matches.

Wenig managed to defeat Michael Hurtz (6-3), Michael Klönhammer (6-3), Kai Gotthardt (6-4), Marco Obst (6-1) and Daniel Klose (6-3). Gotthardt won four of his five duels, while Klose is on three wins in Group A.
Horvat is the leader in Group C after victories over Arno Merk (6-5), Franz Roetzsch (6-0), Dominik Gruellich (6-2), Christopher Toonders (6-3) and Max Hopp (6-4). The latter suffered a defeat only against Horvat, so Hopp is second with four points.
Pascal Rupprecht was the best player in Group B during the opening day. He managed to win four times. For now, Andree Welge and Liam Maendl-Lawrance are behind him with three wins each.
Niko Springer is first in Group D. The German won four matches and also provided a highlight by throwing a nine-darter. Nico Kurz is also on four points, but has a lesser leg balance than Springer.
On Wednesday, the darters will play one more time against all the players in their pools. Then the four best players from each group advance to the last sixteen. Then play continues in a knockout phase. The final is on Nov. 10 and the winner of this final gets to participate in the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace.

I think if he stuck around the BDO he definitely would have been World Champion, should have won in 2014, he never really showed any of his talent in the PDC. - This is exactly what I mean,littler survives the 1st round,I think you'll find a lot of other players did. Can you just report on the real sport,and not just 1 person. I like Luke,but this is getting boring now,as Kevin painter once said to Taylor!! The sport is about every player,not 1 who everyone seems to have put the sport on the map.,which he hasn't,he's just got in when the money is massive.
