In possibly the best leg of all time,
Niko Springer threw a nine darter at the PDC Europe Super League on Tuesday. Special detail; his opponent had also started the leg with two perfect scores.
Springer started the leg with two 180 scores, while opponent
Manfred Bilderl had started the leg with scores of 171 and 174. Springer had the first chance for a nine darter, and via triple 20, triple 19 and double 12, the nine darter was thrown.
Statistically, this is possibly the best leg of all time. The leg is very reminiscent of the World Championship final between Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith, in which both players were allowed to go for a nine darter. Van Gerwen missed his chance, after which Smith hit the ball. Van Gerwen's miss caused his average to drop, making this leg possibly the best ever.
