Over a hundred entrants for opening weekend of 2024 PDC Women's Series including Greaves, Sherrock, Ashton, Hedman and Dobromyslova

The PDC Women's Series 2024 gets underway this weekend. More than 110 players have registered for the first four events of the year, which take place at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan.

The new season of the Women's Series consists of 24 tournaments. These are spread over six weekends, with a total of £240,000 in prize money. The winner of each tournament will receive 2,000 pounds.

Women's darts has reached some new milestones in recent months. Beau Greaves and Fallon Sherrock managed to qualify for the Grand Slam of Darts through the Women's Series last season, and both players won a match there. It was the first time ever that two women have won in the same televised tournament at the PDC.

Another highlight came in mid-March, when Noa-Lynn van Leuven added a Challenge Tour tournament to her name. The three players mentioned above are also all up for the opening weekend of the PDC Women's Series 2024.

Also on the entry list are familiar names such as Lisa Ashton, Mikuru Suzuki, Aileen de Graaf, Deta Hedman, Anastasia Dobromyslova, Rhian O'Sullivan, Laura Turner and Robyn Byrne.

The first two tournaments will take place on Saturday, March 23, while two tournaments will also be held on Sunday, March 24. In addition, selected matches can be seen on PDC TV.

The top eight players after 12 of the 24 tournaments may compete in the Women's World Matchplay in July. The last 12 tournaments of 2023 also count for this ranking. In addition, at the end of the season there are still spots to be earned for the Grand Slam of Darts and the World Darts Championship.
