Tuesday night the final round of play in groups E to H of the Grand Slam of Darts is scheduled. For some players, a place in the knockout phase is already guaranteed and now it's all about securing a group win, while others still have to work hard to keep their tournament alive in Wolverhampton.
In Group E, defending champion Luke Littler is already assured of a spot in the last sixteen. 'The Nuke' began his tournament with an easy 5-1 victory over Karel Sedlacek, and then also recorded a 5-3 win over Connor Scutt. In his final match against Daryl Gurney, Littler needed only three legs to secure a group win. Gurney can no longer make the last sixteen, but with a win he still has a good chance of finishing third in this group. The other match in this pool is between Connor Scutt and Karel Sedlacek. The winner of that showdown will advance to the next round with Littler.

The most open pool of the evening is Group F, in which the battle between Gian van Veen, Josh Rock and Wessel Nijman. Lisa Ashton has already been eliminated, but can still play a role in the outcome of this pool. She took four legs from Van Veen earlier, so 'GVV The Giant' does not have a favourable leg balance. Moreover, the European Championship winner still has to play the very dangerous Rock. A win will see the World Cup winner rise above van Veen due to his better leg difference. The winner of that match will go through to the knockout phase anyway. With a 5-0 or 5-1 victory over Ashton, Nijman is safely through to the next round. With a smaller win he is dependent on the match between Van Veen and Rock.

In Group G, the state of play is much simpler. Niko Springer is already through to the eighth finals, while Beau Greaves is already out. Springer presumably needs to win over Greaves to become pool winner, however, while Greaves will almost certainly finish third if he wins over Springer. In the other match between Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson, the two former world champions will battle out who will advance with Springer to the knockout stage of the Grand Slam of Darts. The winner advances, the loser can pack his bags in a surprising exit from a very challenging group.

The surprise in Group H is that Jonny Clayton is already out after two defeats. He will face Danny Noppert, who has already secured a spot in the next round after his second group match on Sunday. The showdown between Cam Crabtree and Lukas Wenig is an all-or-nothing match. Both players are on two points, which means the winner gets to extend his hotel stay in Wolverhampton. The winner still could finish top of the group, with much still to play for.
