Peter Wright set to be the first player to play 100+ European Tour tournaments but Van Gerwen close behind

'Snakebite' Peter Wright may not have had the greatest year of his career so far in 2023. Nevertheless, the Scotsman could soon be making a interesting piece of history on the European Tour.

No players has featured at more European Tour events than Peter Wright in the history of the events. With his total appearances currently standing at 98, Wright is just two tournaments away from becoming the first players to reach three figures on the Euro Tour.

If Wright to were to miss any of the upcoming European Tour events for any reason however, that historic first could be snatched away from him. Michael van Gerwen sits second on the all-time list of Euro Tour appearances, just three behind Wright with 95 to his name.

Ian White is the only other players to have reached 90 European Tour events, with the likes of Dave Chisnall, Michael Smith and Joe Cullen all not too far behind.
