Players Championship 3-4 participants: Michael van Gerwen plays first Pro Tour tournament of the season in Rosmalen

Michael van Gerwen will be on hand when two Players Championship tournaments are played in Rosmalen on Feb. 17 and 18. It is the first time this Dutch venue will make its appearance on the Players Championship calendar.
It doesn't get much easier for Van Gerwen to attend a Pro Tour tournament. His hometown of Vlijmen is only a 15-minute drive from the playing venue. It will be his first floor tournament of the season for 'Mighty Mike' after he previously skipped the start of the Pro Tour season in Wigan.
Elsewhere, with Nathan Aspinall, Michael Smith, Stephen Bunting, Peter Wright, Rob Cross and Gerwyn Price, some other world class players are present, Gary Anderson, Luke Humphries and Luke Littler have decided not to sign up for the upcoming two-a-side. In addition, Chris Landman, Michele Turetta and Jeffrey de Graaf are also absent. Their spots will be taken by Stefan Bellmont, Carl Sneyd, Darius Labanauskas, Kevin Burness, Mervyn King and Aden Kirk, who were invited because of their position on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit.
A total of 125,000 pounds in prize money is distributed at each Players Championship tournament. The winner of the event will receive a check for 15,000 pounds.
