The second edition of the
World Seniors Darts Matchplay in York has now reached the semifinals. Sunday night, the four remaining players will compete for the final victory at this senior tournament.
In the first semifinal, Neil Duff will take on Jim McEwan. Duff won over Robert Thornton (8-5) and Richie Howson (11-9) earlier in the tournament. McEwan eliminated Glen Durrant (9-7) and Kevin Painter (9-7).
The battle for the second final spot is between Leonard Gates and Paul Hogan. Gates qualified for the last four after victories over Colin McGarry (9-7) and David Cameron (11-9). Hogan picked up wins against Scott Mitchell (8-6) and Phil Taylor (8-6).
Livestream
The World Seniors Darts Matchplay will be televised all weekend on TNT Sports. Elsewhere however, for a fee of £9.99, interested parties can watch the entire weekend via a live stream at www.247.tv/live/darts.
Prize money
The World Seniors Darts Tour (WSDT), organizer of the World Seniors Darts Matchplay, announced that the winner of the event will receive £10,000. In addition, the winner will also go home with a trophy. Last year, it was won by Robert Thornton, who was too strong for Phil Taylor in the final 12-10.
